Not Alone
Falling for things that come in threes
3 am
birdsong through a window,
I’m not alone in my storm
My 3 year old
soft snores—
wait for your warmth
I’m not whole
something keeps missing
inside
Figure out
its meaning—
in you I confide
You tell me
it’s not your heart
but where can I hide?
Why does ease
get met with a sinking vessel
a tight grip on mine?
3 possibilities—
I wait
for the worst one
With suffering
I recognize
support come undone
I hold you there
a kiss where
you don’t expect
3 memories
that made you—
a story I perfect
Dark doorway
city unfurling through screen,
you kiss where I’ve never been seen
3 am
car windows up
sobbing
You don’t leave when I blame you
wait til I’m dry—
drive blurry, head throbbing
I’m not alone
when I conjure
your eyes outside my front door
Even when it’s hard
you can’t give up
everything you were meant for
3 bottles
one fish under navy
gray streaks of cloud
Caught for me
bring me home, heart pulling you in—
leave without sound
Lifetimes pass
warm bed, sheets waiting,
perseverance set in stone
thick and full
pour from me the third time—
proof I’m not alone.

Love Language
Sun peeks out
like now is your moment
do what you’ve got to do.
We’re all waiting for you.
Pain come forward,
settle at the crown
furrow my brow.
It’s the same me
whatever you intended to do
doesn’t follow through.
I Am Not Someone Who Needed Fixing
Even in that lonely space,
I am not someone who needed fixing—
I’m not a blank slate
in need of your input,
not something wrong you need to erase.

Your words paint vivid pictures, like the dark doorway and the city unfurling, leaving a lasting impression. This is such a heartfelt piece.♥️
