I somehow profoundly related to this - the stillness, or rather, the necessity of learning to be still, to wait for something that might never even come. Beautiful.
What stays with me most is that “I settle.” It hurts because it comes after all that longing to be truly reached. Sometimes it isn’t the absence of love that wears us down, but continuing to wait for someone to fully give what they have already begun taking away.
